The Western Kentucky Dream Center (WKDC), launched March 5, 2021, is a Church of God initiative that is a cooperative effort supported by 18 Church of God congregations in ten counties of Western Kentucky. Now under the direction of Adam Young and Dr. Michael Knight, our goal at The WKDC is to take the best of sociology and mesh it with the Gospel to bring God’s children out of poverty and oppression. Our approach is centered in two perspectives: ecological and strengths. We believe that being able to provide needed resources to those who have found themselves in crisis and helping them discover the resources that already exist in their ecosystems can be the catalyst for success and self-sustainability. The resources we offer are held up by four pillars:
· The Emergency Resource Store
· Alcohol and Drug: Freedom and Discipleship
· Juvenile Justice and Leadership Development
· SPARC: Single Parent Alliance & Resource Coalition
With each of these pillars there is a leader and a team awaiting to serve the communities of Western Kentucky. We understand that poverty, injustice, and oppression reach both urban and rural communities alike. The leaders and the teams of The WKDC stand ready to aid those that are faced with the challenges of life’s struggles by being the hands and feet of Jesus Christ.
We exist to fulfill the Great Commission through strategic discipleship, evangelism, and empowering those who lead.
Your support and contributions are vital in order for us to meet the needs of those we serve. Generous donations from people like you will fund our mission and help our ministries flourish.
